Mr. Moran began working for Luchesse Boot Maker in the 1960’s and early 70’s at their main warehouse in San Antonio, Texas. While he perfected his craft, something was missing. That something was the Rio Grande Valley. Home. After moving back to South Texas in the mid 70’s, Mr. Moran worked at Rio Boots in Mercedes. Once he establised himself back in Weslaco, Texas, it was time to open up a boot repair shop to keep him busy in his spare time. His first year in business did not go so well…. until the Holiday season when a gentleman asked him to make him a custom pair of boots. Mr. Moran declined because he did that for a living. He just wanted repairs. The Gentleman made him an offer he couldn’t refuse, so he made him his pair. Word spread quickly. Two orders. Four orders. Six! A dozen! It was time to get to work on his own. 

 

He opened up his first shop next to Keno’s. Then he opened up in Donna, Texas. After moving on his own, he opened up where Mid Valley Boot Repair is now. 142 N. Texas Blvd was home. After a decade of solid service, Mr. Davis asked Mr. Moran if he wanted to move locations because parking was an issue. Now with two large parking areas available, we are now at 1000 E Expressway in Weslaco, Texas.
